Help wanted

We're down to the last week now and I'm desperately seeking a few more volunteers to help out on polling day. If you'd like to help Put a Green in Greenslopes, the best possible thing you could do is to help us out hand out how to vote cards on Saturday. A little bit of time in the morning, or at lunchtime (to give someone else a little break) will be a huge help. It's not hard, it's not demanding, but it makes a really big difference to our vote.

If you can help at any time on Saturday, please email volunteers@putagreeningreenslopes.net and we'll sort something out.

Donations are also gratefully accepted and are tax deductible. Email darryl@putagreeningreenslopes.net if you can help us out with some of our costs.

I live in Coorparoo and would normally have voted for Labour but in the current election am finding i hard to do.
I was going to vote for you untill your party came out with a policy to give free public transport to under 21 and pension holders. The stated reason was to remove cars from the road but they would be the segment of the population least likely to own a car so that sounds rediculous to me.
all this is going to do is cost more money in taxes and degrade the Public Transport as it drains public coffers and no extra cars removed.
I now feel your party could be just as risky as the Liberals to vote into power, maby the kids will vote for you...

You might have misunderstood out policy slightly. Free public transport for young people will reduce congestion around schools, as some parents will not need to drive their children to and from school and it will make life a bit easier for parents.

University students are *definitely* big car users (just go to UQ or Griffith during teaching semester and out of semester and look at the difference) and our policy will make public transport more usable by them.

It won't cost any more in taxes because we would also stop funding the billions of dollars being spent on tunnels in Brisbane. If you want to talk about risk, consider the enormous sums of money being spent by the BCC and the State on crazy tunnel visions.
